Amy Goodman is the host and executive producer of Democracy Now!, a national daily news program airing on over 1,300 public television and radio stations worldwide. Known for her truly independent grassroots political journalism, she has co-authored numerous books including The Silenced Majority: Stories of Uprisings, Occupations, Resistance, and Hope (with Denis Moynihan); and Standing Up to the Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times (with David Goodman). David Goodman is an independent journalist, a contributing writer for Mother Jones, and host of the radio show, The Vermont Conversation. Amy and David Goodman, along with Denis Moynihan, have co-authored a new book, Democracy Now! It looks back over the past twenty years of Democracy Now! and considers that as courts and governments abdicate their responsibilities, it has fallen to ordinary people to hold the powerful accountable.
