Formed as a New York City hardcore band in 1979, Beastie Boys struck an unlikely path to global hip hop superstardom, ultimately influencing countless musicians like Eminem, Rage Against the Machine, and pop culture at-large. Today, Beastie Boys have sold 50 million records and released seven platinum albums. In their forthcoming book, Adam “ADROCK” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond detail the bands’ evolution; their collaborations with legendary producers Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin; their debut album, Licensed to Ill,  that became the first hip hop record ever to hit #1; their work as activists, specifically for Tibet; the loss of member Adam “MCA” Yauch; and more. Beastie Boys Book includes rare photos, a cookbook, a graphic novel, and contributions from Amy Poehler, Colson Whitehead, and Spike Jonze. Tickets to this event include a copy of “Beastie Boys Book.”
