Norwegian novelist Karl Ove Knausgaard is the author of the epic six-part, 3,600-page autobiographical novel, My Struggle. With meticulous detail, the volumes recount Knausgaard’s life from boyhood to adulthood. Knausgaard’s truly original and highly acclaimed approach to the novel has ignited the literary world. Jonathan Lethem called Knausgaard “a living hero who landed on greatness by abandoning every typical literary feint, an emperor whose nakedness surpasses royal finery.” James Wood, literary critic at The New Yorker, wrote “Knausgaard . . . strips away the literary tricks, bursts through language, explodes artifice [and] rare properties in contemporary writing.” My Struggle has been translated into more than fifteen languages. Three volumes—Book 1, Book 2, and Book 3– have been published in the United States. Book 4 will be published in 2015. Knausgaard is also the author of the novels Out of This World, winner of the Norwegian Critics Prize, and A Time for Everything. Knausgaard lives in Sweden with his wife and four children.
