Senator Schumer’s book tour events during the week of March 17 are being postponed for security reasons. City Arts and Lectures will work to reschedule this event at a later date.

United States Senator Charles Ellis “Chuck” Schumer is the Senate Democratic Leader and the highest-elected Jewish official in American history. Beginning in 1981, Schumer served as the Representative for New York’s 9th District before becoming a United States Senator in 1998. He has been instrumental in advancing legislation on issues of gun violence, affordable healthcare, and infrastructure investment. His forthcoming book, Antisemitism in America: A Warning, gives historical context to antisemitism while also drawing from Senator Schumer’s own life.
