Chris Matthews is host of MSNBC's Hardball and a frequent
contributor to NBC's Today Show. Matthews has served as a
broadcast journalist, newspaper bureau chief, Presidential speechwriter
for Jimmy Carter, and author of Hardball, Kennedy & Nixon, and
Now Let Me Tell You What I Really Think. Matthews was formerly
Washington Bureau Chief for the San Francisco Examiner. He has covered
a wide range of news-making events, from the fall of the Berlin
Wall, the first multi-racial election in South Africa, and the funeral
of Pope John Paul II, to the past six American presidential campaigns.
Matthews new book Life's a Campaign: What Politics Has Taught
Me About Friendship, Rivalry, Reputation, and Success is
the culmination of forty years observing politics. In the book he
exposes the tactics and truths of presidents, senators, and others
in power. Chris Matthews' nationally syndicated column for the San
Francisco Chronicle appears in two hundred newspapers nationwide.
