Ira Glass started working in public radio in 1978, when he was 19, as an intern at NPR’s headquarters in DC. Over the next 17 years, he worked on nearly every NPR news show in nearly every production job: tape-cutter, desk assistant, newscast writer, editor, producer, reporter, and substitute host. Glass moved to Chicago in 1989 and put This American Life on the air in 1995. This American Life now has over 2.2 million listeners, 2 million downloads weekly, and has won all of the major broadcasting awards. In Seven Things I’ve Learned, Glass will mix stories live onstage, using audio clips, music, and video, for an inside glimpse into his wholly unique creative process.
