Senator Al Franken has represented Minnesota in the United States Senate since 2009. Before entering politics, he was an award-winning comedy writer, author, and radio talk show host. He’s been married to his wife, Franni, for 41 years. They have two children, Thomasin and Joe, and three grandchildren. Franken’s many books include Liars and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them and his 2017 political memoir, Al Franken, Giant of the Senate.
Judson True received a Master of Journalism from UC Berkeley before working in San Francisco government. A former spokesman for Muni, he now serves as chief of staff for California Assemblymember David Chiu.
